Sorry, but the music video, song and performance’s flaws were kind of big. I agree with 2AM when they said they looked awkward when dancing n stage, Jo Kwon was definitely awkward on stage without the others.ħ.5/10. The music was upbeat, the music video was great, but then the dance just sucked. I found the dance kind of boring, and not appealing. Though I was like “eh”, I was surprised, since, and I must admit, the music video was slowly building up to its climax, and then it just went straight down, in the worst story form ever.Īnyway, I love the fact that Ga-In was in the video. The “manager” either grew bored of having power or kind of just went blanked, while in power and just handed the crown over to Jo Kwon. However, despite the cliché start and middle, I was quite surprised with the ending. darkness and snow, you knew automatically that the newer poster would fall and Jo Kwon’s face would appear. Also when the poster of the “manager” is put up, and with the rain. I mean, like from the start you could tell that the Jo Kwon’s assistant or “manager” wants to overthrow Jo Kwon, with the help of the storybook, since most fairy-tales would be told the same way. This music video on the other hand was good, but quite cliché. I looked all over Put my head on somebodys shoulder Please, and there aint no one else, nothing now youre gone. So yeah, that bothered me, but beside that, it was a good song. (One, one, one, one) Get bad, Im the one Da da da da I looked all over Put my head on somebodys shoulder Please, and there aint no one else, nothing now youre gone. It sounded much different than Korean, but did not match with another language. ![]() When Jo Kwon goes Girls, Girls, Girls and Boys, Boys, Boys, it sounded like a whole different language. The only thing I must say about this song, is that it has the worse pronunciation mistake, or what I think it is, ever. ![]() Beside this song, I really liked Heaven, but the rest, I felt it was kind of bland and not as outgoing as Jo Kwon is portrayed on TV shows. Though it is quite different for him to have an upbeat, happy, light hearted yet meaningful song since 2AM normally does Ballads, or actual sad dance songs, I was quite surprised that he pulled the song off quite well. There was nothing wrong with the song (well, exaggeration here, I will explain later). It was catchy, it was upbeat and technically, it deserve more than one award. UK Flexi Disc Sent by record label to promoters and radio stations etc.I absolutely fell in love with this song when I first heard it. Gish CD version and UK 7" and 12" vinyl releases No. Formats and track listing US Limited Potential vinyl version No. When the band released their greatest hits compilation, Rotten Apples, in 2001, "I Am One" was one of the few singles that did not make the cut (the others were " Tristessa", " Rocket", " Thirty-Three", " The End Is the Beginning Is the End", and on American copies of the album, " Try, Try, Try"). The recording of "I Am One" on Vieuphoria / Earphoria features one such rant. Some of the rants contained lyrics for future songs, most notably " Zero". The rants were apparently based around the erosion of the belief structure in America's youth, and Corgan has stated they were the gestation for many ideas he later explored on Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Jimmy Chamberlin considered these rants to be "art-breakdown". These rants were criticized, sometimes even by the other band members, due to their abrasive nature. ![]() The speech section is known among fans as "the I Am One rant". In live performance (starting around the release of Siamese Dream) Corgan would often improvise a speech during the extended bass break as a result the song could extend to 8–10 minutes in length. The music video features a live performance by the band. "I Am One" features a doubled guitar solo – a technique later used on Pumpkins songs like " Ava Adore", " Tarantula", and "Bring the Light". There are apparently three test pressings also in existence, two owned by Billy Corgan and one was formally owned by Limited Potential owner, Mike Potential. With only 1500 copies pressed, the release is highly sought after by collectors. Footage from the video was instead used on the long form video, Vieuphoria, the long version of the music video was released on the Greatest Hits Video Collection. A video for the song was also filmed, but never released (until 2001) due to the band being unhappy with the result. Corgan later stated his regret with not re-working the song for Gish, as the two versions are nearly identical. "I Am One" was re-recorded for Gish and a new single was released on Caroline Records and Hut Recordings. This recording was financed with the money from Corgan's college tuition fund left by his grandmother. One was recorded in 1990 and was the Pumpkins' first release and first on Limited Potential. Two recordings of the song were released. It charted on the UK Singles Chart at a peak position of number 73. It was the band's first ever release and remains the only single issued by the band with co-writing credits to both Billy Corgan and James Iha. ![]() " I Am One" is the debut single by American alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins.
